| De [con] struct |
In de [con] struct, the artist subjects landscapes and street photographs to chemical corrosion, transforming familiar scenes into fragile, emotionally resonant abstractions. The acid not only destabilizes the photographic surface but also evokes the subtle erosion of memory and the quiet impermanence of the places we inhabit. Streets, buildings, and natural vistas blur and fragment, conjuring feelings of loss, nostalgia, and the uncanny familiarity of spaces slipping from recognition.
By embracing chance and material transformation, the series foregrounds the vulnerability of both environment and perception. The resulting images invite viewers to confront the transient nature of experience, the fragility of memory, and the emotional weight embedded in the spaces around us.
